Extraordinary Year of Mercy: Merciful Like the Father

Extraordinary Year of Mercy: Merciful Like the Father

Year of Mercy Logo

“Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful” (cf. Lk 6:36). On March 13, 2015, Pope Francis declared that an Extraordinary Year of Mercy would be celebrated throughout the world. It will begin on December 8, 2015, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, and conclude on November 26, 2016, Feast of Christ the King.

All of us need God’s mercy! Join Catholics throughout the world and encounter the love and mercy of God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

The Extraordinary Year of Mercy is to be the “living experience of the closeness of the Father, whose tenderness is almost tangible, so that the faith of every believer may be strengthened and thus testimony to it be ever more effective.” – Pope Francis
